Why squatters have any rights is beyond absurd
  • It is mind-boggling to me that in so many states, squatters have rights that they shouldn't have.

These aren't merely squatters they're career thieves, this is how they live.

The fact that they cannot be thrown out physically is absurd. It is their home, they should have the right to remove any unwanted guest from their home without persecution.

We need to normalize a simple lifestyle and stop normalizing debt. Huge SUVs, huge houses and private universities are simply not necessary. I live within my budget and I sleep better at night knowing that if I lose my job tomorrow, ' be fine. I didn't buy the biggest house. I bought the one I could comfortably repay

This is theft straight up. He and his wife should be in jail and the kids taken by Social Services.

People like this shouldn’t just be evicted…they should be arrested and charged…they are scamming people out of money by doing this.

When courts allow squatters to continue to reside in YOUR home that’s when the courts should be held responsible for the consequences and bills acquired during their stay. This is theft!

The Airbnb is right. This shouldn't take months, it should only take a few hours. Don't pay, get out

Can you imagine being on vacation for a week or two and someone is already living in your house, with access to all your belongings and you literally can't do anything about it because it takes no less than six months and thousands of dollars? What kind of crap is this?

I would NEVER rent a nice house like that out on ANY platform.
  • @rclines001
This is why as a airbnb owner you can't allow people to stay long periods. You run the risk of them being protected by squatter laws after a certain period of time.

A portal needs to be created with names by state and city of individuals who have done this, so that homeowners can carefully vet and lease their property to honest individuals.

Defrauding an innkeeper can be a criminal rather than a civil issue.
  • @freedomfirst5557
Why? Why in the hell don't we have nation wide no-squatter laws against these types of crimes?
  • @janedoe805
How exactly did these “Professional Squatters” rent such a luxury home from Airbnb at $10,000.00 month? Aren’t Airbnb rentals done online with credit cards? Doesn’t the payment goes through first? I have never rented an Airbnb but, I‘m assume that that’s the way it works.

A hotel wouldn’t have this issue to evict once the person stops paying for the room. The cops would immediately be called and they would be told to vacate by force immediately. Why is an Airbnb any different?
