I love NS as well! Just bought a Scale Trains C39-8 in NS. Also a 40' tanker NS. Awesome paint scheme.

That UP SD70M in the UP Paint was a former SP SD70M which was numbered as the SP 9803 before the patch and repaint. If look at a standard as delivered UP SD70M and SP/UP Repaint you will see a difference in the scheme, where the line is established on the UP and SP/UP units. The scheme is a great style.

Nice review James, great to see Athearn doing the small details like the different bells under the chassis, props to them on that!👍🏻 Keep it up 👍🏻

i got three of these coming,, the NS ghost and 2 Conrail.. thanks for the closer look James

Hi NS is my favorite class 1, I am thinking of starting modeling NS

The flares represent a Tier 1 qualified prime mover for the amount of exhaust particles allowed into the air. Yes it runs the engine cooler, but it's to achieve the Tier 1 status. SD70M-2/ACe's are Tier 2/3. Great detail and thank you for posting this. I've been thinking of a few units from this run and this video helps that decision.

That NS locomotive is a beautiful model, sounds good and I’m sure runs good..... here comes the however! The sill on this locomotive should be a long continuous white sill since prototypically they were built and delivered to NS in 2003. That’s the year that NS modified their paint scheme.

That X SP SD70M looks so good!!!

Cool Video! I like SD70M with flared radiators!

Very nice James thanks for the videos I always enjoy them. Your not helping me not want to spend money lol. I pre ordered the Csx rebuilt sd70mac I hope you will do a review on them when they come out. I’m sure you will be able to get it before us modeling civilians can haha

These look like great products!

I see Athearn still hasn’t addressed the windshield wiper discrepancy. On the SD70M the wipers stow horizontally near the top of the wind shields not vertically. I’ve told them about this numerous times and they still have y corrected it. Let along the fact they left them silver and unpainted on the UP units. For a locomotive marketed as a premier series model this is just unacceptable

i like the way the UP looks
-
U should also do a review on the new BLI big boy
-
Very inpressive model with its great windscreen with lid. High detailled trucks, deep profiled. But not so useable for my thick fingers, I couldn‘t get it out of the box without damages!
-
Great video! Amazing locomotives. I am just getting into model trains, with that said, I am curious what are you using to activate the sounds? Thank you and love the channel!!
-
I have been a fan for a long time, and I really love the content dude

Looking forward to the SC44 charger review James.

Nice models, nice video!

Did you pick up the SP unit from this run? I think it's done very well with the weathering and patch job. Although I did like the yellow and nose paint differences on the UP's from this run, but I have five flared and non-flared UP. That NS looks good though!
