I spent five years in the hospital as a child with a chronic life threatening disease. The Make a wish foundation offered me a dream come true trip wherever I wanted. While I was fighting for my life everyone one I knew moved on. They all focused on their future, dreams and happiness. I made new friendships with other kids spending their last days in that place. I would walk in circles around the hematology floor and see them in their rooms. Over time, each room would be vacant, sanitized and given to the next poor soul. When I finally left, I told myself that I needed to see the world for them.
This song simply embodies everything I feel.
I miss you guys.

I think that this song is the most important song of my life. My dad used to put soad songs on the radio when we were travelling and definetely Lonely Day always was the one that I most enjoyed even not knowing the lyrics (I'm brazillian). Growing up and learning a little bit of english, I searched for the lonely day lyrics and I felt in love with all the felling put in this song, the guitar, the bass, Daron's incredible voice... In 2021, my dad passed away by covid and going back to the hospital, I felt the exactly meaning that was put in this song... '' And if you go, I wanna go with you. Edit: thank you all for saying happy birthday to me. It means alot to me, especially since i am continuing to fight through the pain with this bipolar depression, and I wish everyone the best on their fight against their everyday demons.

Edit: Feb 11, 2023, I haven't came to this song in about 3 years. I had did a lot of soul searching. I've found a passion in writing and I'm almost finished in college. Loneliness still creeps up and depression comes and goes but I don't let it defeat me. I cry and feel the feels and just move on. I'm in a better place mentally and this is without medication. Haven't took medication since 2015, the work was all on my own. Proud of me. And thanks to all who wished me a happy bday and came back to this day every year to do so. I am truly grateful to touch people hearts and inspired others to not give up. This world is truly Lonely but knowing that someone is feeling the same way as you, can make you feel less lonely. I send love to you all. Hope everyone is thriving and happy. ❤️

My friend loved system of a down and was murdered back in 2002. When this song came out, that described perfectly how I felt the day I had to identify his body. Rest in peace Johnathan

Im at stage four disease in my late 20's and my boyfriend played this song for me and sang along to this,it broke my heart knowing that this is how he feels and not being able to do anything to help me stay and not die but im glad he found something this relatable so he doesn't feel alone.
