It's been nice seeing card throwing get popular in recent years. I started the hobby about 30 years ago, after I saw Ricky Jay do it in The Paul Daniels Magic Show.
Bicycle seconds are a cheap and good choice for throwing.
It seems that I have the same throwing technique as you do. -
