Nobody is holding the team up other than the front office. They fully control his contract. The 49ers have a duty to make the team better, that Cleveland trade would make them better and they blew it because they need Aiyuk more. They should have sent him in a heartbeat, instead the 49ers look unreasonable trying to make Aiyuk look any way in their quest to not look like they really really want Aiyuk.

49ers had trades in place with both Cleveland and New England and Aiyuk said no. Patriots reportedly offered him $30 million. WTH does he want?

49ers knew that Brandon Aiyuk would be unsatisfied but thought he would cave. Should have traded him BEFORE this year's draft. 49ers only have themselves to blame.

Steeler fan here...if he ends up with Pitt, the 9ers will have to pay for half of 30 mil at least. Steelers never overpay. Even Bens contracts werent back breaking.

Dude is under contract. 49ers don’t have to anything. If he doesn’t want to play he can sit out the whole season then see what teams will pay him after his deal expires.

Start the fines and push for the trade to Cleveland or let him sit out a year. Tag him next year and see where that goes. Hopefully some of these younger guys step up.

Mike florio makes the most sense. 49ers have trade Brandon to the Steelers and get maybe a 3rd and a 5th and then trade for whatever else they need from another team
