I want to shake the hand of the man that went under that locomotive to hook the chains to those trucks!
  • remember kids, whenever your welding....always stare directly into the light 👍

LOL !! ONE TIME IN ARGENTINE SHOPS , WE HAD A DUMMY THAT DID NOT PROPERLY CONNECT THE 4 JACKS AND RAISED AN 4 AXLE GE U -23 LOCOMOTIVE WITH ONLY 2 JACKS TO THE TOP OF THE JACKS!! ONE JACK ON LEFT FRONT AND THE OTHER ON THE RIGHT REAR! A VERY BRAVE ELECTRICIAN FOREMAN DID MANAGE TO MANUALLY RAISE THE OTHER TWO JACKS TO THE LOCOMOTIVE AND THEN PROPERLY CONNECT THE CONTROL PLUGS!
  • First time I have seen what goes on down by the traction bolster. Thanks so much for this glimpse into the beast.
  • You are absolutely awesome teacher illustrator about this subject. And thank you so much for taking your time to put this together it is amazing as how the locomotive technology of today is actually much easier and safer to deal with than steam technology. Not saying it is not hard work however still safer and easier. Especially from the aspect of the boiler of a steam locomotive 🚂. I am a big fan and thank you.
  • I would love to work on locomotives and rolling stock. I've worked on everything from lawnmowers, motorcycles, cars, trucks and tractor trailers but never trains. Trains are my passion but I've never been lead in life to be a part of them. Y'all are so fortunate to be able to work on these pieces of American railroad history. I'm jealous but I appreciate what you men are doing
  • @shockingguy

  • Used to do it to check out the electric DC forklift motors that I used to rebuild as well the old school stuff LOL I love it . you bring back memories here...
  • it was actually nice (though im sure not for you) to see the struggle with hooking up the traction motor lines. thanks for sharing!

  • That's what I was always wondering what hell that they can place now I see that casting retainer
  • Connect those cables reminds me of the old electric forklifts some resistor and some would have moved over to the ev1 systems love it I know I'm talking a lot but I get excited with stuff like this
  • I always wondered how the trucks attached so they don't bolt up or nothing locks them in so funny I work on big machines I work on lulls forklifts etc and machines with tracks on it and stuff like that and it's amazing but the trains I always wish I had an opportunity to work on trains love stuff like this and I love your explanation 💜💜💜
  • I do some crazy welding like that underneath stuff as well I love watching stuff like this I Love trains like I had said....
