Ken & Thia's PCT 2020: Day 164 "Goat Rocks!"

Published 2020-09-22
Despite heavy winds we took on the challenge of the rugged and beautiful Goat Rocks Wilderness. It was an amazing day and one of our favorite sections of the PCT.

Some real Sherpa moments. Some of the best footage of the trip. Majestic musical accompaniment enhanced the effect of being on top of the world. True goat country. Well done!

Wow a very difficult section. You guys are troopers. I would guess lots of praying. Keep trekking.

Loved Riding my horse on the PCT.... this area by far was the scariest section through WA... your video brought back the adrenaline ♥️

I think this was your best video yet. Fantastic scenery and great music to go with it. Really epic.

I have a plaque on my wall that says, "Explore. My life is like a stroll on the beach, as near to the edge as I can get" (Thoreau). Well, you were defiinitely on the knife's edge. Great video - thank you!

You outdid yourself with this one Roadkill, the scenery, story, music, scary heights, old trail friends, goats, wind and smoke. We were on the edge of our seat wondering what would happen next. It was nice that you 3 had a little extra company on the knifes edge for safety sake. Glad you got to experience those once in a lifetime views. You and Goldilocks are the best PCT story of the year. All the best.

Great hike today. Probably the best one yet. Thanks for being a gentleman and volunteering to cowboy camp. Hike On!

This was spectacular as far as view went! I was on the edge of my seat watching this one. The trail was so very close to the edge! Yikes!

Well ,my fingernails are but nonexistent after watching you guys on that part of the trail. I honestly can’t see how anyone can hike those narrow ridges with sheer drop offs on either side. You guys are awesome! Stay safe and stay well.and get on to Canada. 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow, amazing views and what a trail, stay safe and hike on.

Very nice well done video. Epic! Looks like you guys wouldn't have a problem with the toughest Sierra passes anymore. Also what a gentlemanly, honorable gesture to cowboy camp. Chivalrous even. I take back my comment in your last video and sincerely apologize.
  • Fun video! For some reason I can see Sticks & Skipper being friends past the PCT (as well as the rest of you).

Well done Ken, one of the better Goat Rocks video’s out there. There is going to be some fabulous weather starting next week and I hope you guys get to finish your journey. If you need any help around Stehekin please let me know. Stay safe.
  • Wow, what an amazing day of hiking. I can imagine what it was like when you throw the wind in with it as well. I hate hiking on shale rock. Boys will be boys (rolling the big rock down the hill). Serious elevation, but some of the most amazing scenery thus far. And wildlife to top it off. Your parents raised you right, volunteering to cowboy camp. A true gentleman. Hi Skipper, and the rest of the crew, and of course Goldilocks. Trek On my friends!!!
  • Top of my list for the section I most want to see/do someday. BEAUTIFUL!!!
