    As Sonoma State president and president of the board of directors, Dr Lee had no authority to commit Sonoma State to divest, sever academic ties with Israel, or any of the other things he promised. Further, it is ridiculous to posit that he was ignorant of the limits to his power. I just wonder 'WTF was he thinking?'

    You really can’t use “CSU” and leadership in the same sentence. Neither the Chancellors nor the campus presidents are responsive to very real concerns of faculty and students and it nearly always makes very flawed decisions. The toxic culture is striking and endemic. It’s sad.

    800 out of a total enrollment of how many ? It is not complicated at all . He stepped outside of the authority of his role and the university has no obligation to honor it . If he wants to PERSONALLY support them who cares ? Gotta love these folks nowadays who can not separate work from their personal lives .
