  • People romanticising antisocial behaviour and standoffish elitist approaches to human interactions as signs of great intelligence is kind of sad. It’s good to treat others with kindness and attentiveness.

People who can get along with anybody, make them feel special and seen have a unique opportunity and special power. So don't knock down small talk because I'd wish I had the knack for it

His parents own mines in South Africa. The guy was loaded from the get go. There is no from rags to riches story with him. Just a rich guy that bought companies that made him even richer.

Small talk isn't the problem, it depends on who you are talking to

People really think that not liking small talk makes you smart. As if being able to communicate with other people is somehow a negative? Edit: thanks for 1.9k likes, we successfully gathered all the men with 0 social skills under this comment.

What I'd hate about being married to someone who's very famous & admired is all the social events you're expected to attend AND the lack of privacy. I couldn't live that kind of life. I love being private, free & being a homebody; that's luxury to me.

I think being able to make small talk is actually genius, if you can talk to anyone about anything that is a great skill and to some it just comes naturally. The power of conversation is amazing.
  • I’m bad at small talk. It’s always talking about the same superficial stuff, and I’m blaming it on my inability to make people comfortable enough to have a more genuine connection.

I personally enjoy more the silence around me than listening to information which my brain automatically filters and forgets.

These comments are wild. Imagine bashing a man because he doesn’t like small talk😂

Wow, revealing things someone told you in confidence within the bounds of an intimate relationship is a breach of trust.

I feel bad for them that this ended. They got married twice, there was clearly love there.
