What was your favorite performance by Kate Bush?

Thanks for the video, but this isn't an 'untold story'. Those of us who knew Kate before 'Stranger Things' knew this. She was, and remained to this day an artist with a massive legacy that had never been forgotten in the UK

Kate Bush is a poet who puts her words to music. And, her music is the platform for a her words. Kate's song, 'The Man with the Child in his Eyes', is one of those tunes that is written by a person who has magnificent insight into the human condition and is able to express it. The term 'Artist' is an over used word, now. Before, an 'Artist' was only for those who truly understood and shaped how we think and feel deep within ourselves and, by their creativity, altered our thinking. Kate Bush is a true Artist! She has taken her influences and made the world a better place to live in. X
  • Born within 15 days of Madonna, yet she is the exact opposite. Kate never sought publicity, instead she crafted her art and let her music speak. Now both 63 and here we are again with Bush's music being discovered by countless new fans, while Madonna takes 'shocking' Instagram photos.

I saw her live 3 times in the 70's , once i Edinburgh and twice in London, absolutely magical.

One more bit of Kate Bush trivia: Big Boi of Outkast is a known superfan who has said multiple times that she is his favorite artist and he met her after a performance of her Before the Dawn residency in 2014. After years of keeping in touch on occasion, they finally were able to collaborate on a song last year. Big Boi says he will keep it unreleased until the public "deserves it" 🤣
  • I'm absolutely convinced her "Don't give up" with Peter Gabriel pulled me out of some really dark place, maybe even saved my life. Thank you Kate and Peter.
  • I hate when you have groups like ‘Spice Girls’ saying girl power and all that, when they are a manufactured act assembled by men, performing songs by men, being labelled and marketed by men. Kate Bush IS GIRL/WOMAN POWER played the game by her own rules after her initial success, took control of her artistic output, refused to tour unless on her terms and was a superb writer and performer, the true leader with the power that comes with superior talent
  • Kate Bush is a true original musical genius. Unique, inspired, imaginative, totally gifted, and a one off. There is no other like her. She is, in my opinion, the greatest female singer songwriter ever. No one even comes close. Her work is exceptional in every way.
  • So chuffed that her ground breaking music is reaching a whole new audience, she deserves this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Goddess—there's no comparing Taylor Swift and Adele to her.

The music of Kate Bush is quick to give me a plethora of ideas for performance pieces. She is just SO AWESOMELY unconventional. "Running Up That Hill" is still a favorite song of mine, as well as her collaboration with Peter Gabriel for "Don't Give Up." I really should catch up with the rest of her discography.

I think it’s an insulting to Kate to compare Taylor Swift and Adele to her. When in either of those above mentioned (other) artist’s careers have they ever released even one single song, without at least one other songwriter also taking 50% of the credit? (I can’t think of a single instance). Yet Kate has solely written ALL her material both lyrics and melodies completely and consistently on her own (apart from one single instance of a co-write with Prince in her entire 45 year and counting career). When have either of those other artist’s ever been responsible for programming or playing most (if not all) of the instruments on their songs? (Not very often and in Adele’s case never)!
  • Kate’s so we’ll respected by all musicians As David Bowie Yeah she’s not one for the spotlight & doesn’t crave attention, but she’s got everyone’s attention to this day Simple because Kate is a beautiful story teller & her art is amazing I still love WH and it’ll never date But the song I absolutely adore is Army Dreamers, it’s just great
  • I’ve been a fan of Kate’s since Withering Heights release in 1978, I was ten years old. She learned Gaeilge (the Irish language) to sing Mná na hEíreann (Women of Ireland) which is hauntingly beautiful.

Untold? None of this is unknown - her millions of fans (of which I'm one) already knew all this!
  • @oxouk
My Mother used to sing Wuthering Heights when it first came out and as a child I thought it was such a strange song. I always admired her atistry and became quite a fan of her work over the last twenty years or so. I'm glad that a new generation of music fans are discovering her. She is a true artist, writing her own material at a very young age and not letting the business wolves mold or define her as an artist.

I am thrilled Kate is once again appreciated. First saw her in the 70s on SNL believe it or not. She did The Man w the Child in his Eyes. Stunning. My favorite album is The Dreaming but there is so much unique and beautiful music and video to choose from.
