What foods do you no longer buy since getting your Thermomix?
-
Puff pastry. I use the thermomix quick puff pastry recipe. I don’t bother with resting in the refrigerator but I always freeze it so it’s there to use. I turn granulated sugar into caster sugar, icing sugar and brown sugar. Saves on storage space.

Coffee of any kind, matcha, ice lollies, juices, cookies, muffins, cakes, bread, smoothies—gosh so many!

Brilliant video, well presented!

Didn’t you add any rock salt to preserve it?

I have a Thermomix TM6 and I don’t use it barely at all. My husband and I joke that it’s the most expensive breadcrumb maker in the world, since it’s all I use it for. I’ve been disappointed in almost anything I’ve used it for so I stopped using it. The browning function is rubbish. Since browning gives food flavour I never use the Thermomix for anything that requires browning since it results in tasteless food. I made chicken and beef stocks when I first got the machine and they were absolutely awful. Making pastry or bread is horrendous since you have to fight the blades for 0 minutes too free your food. Each thing I’ve made, except breadcrumbs, has been disappointing so I just stopped using it.
