Hello Scotty, I have 2018 Denali 6.2. I installed the RANGE deactivation module in my truck. 199$ cost. Takes the deactivation out. Works perfect. Pass it on.
  • I like that computer Scotty is using. Truck drives itself while Scotty analyses the data.
  • I love the pictures you put in the corner, makes learning about cars fun

Have been watching your videos for sometime now, and I do enjoy it because they're educative. Watching you all the way from Nigeria 🇳🇬, Africa.

The good news is that GM have announced that due to the worldwide microchip shortage, newer trucks won't have cylinder deactivation.

Had a lease 2018 GMC Canyon 10 speed transmission. Gave me problems for 3 years. Now I have a 2021 Toyota tacoma trd off-road and loving every minute of it.
  • Nice Canadian tuxedo, Scotty. I have the exact same outfit in my wardrobe. My wife loves it!
  • @Mityob67
Love your work Scotty. Thanks for helping regular people stay educated about cars.

Mine has 122, 000 trouble-free miles and has AVERAGED 22 to 24 MPG numerous times!!! So far so good!!!
  • Thanks for the video Scotty ! Always learning something new... I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado manual and still working like a champ !
  • @stevenwright248
Hey Scotty I saw an article that GM isn’t going to put this Mickey Mouse Deactivation stuff in their new trucks because of the “chip shortage” Like you said, they shouldn’t have ever put ii in their trucks to start with!! Thanks as always for your insight!! Keep up the great work!!

Just found you recently and been binge-watching. ;-) You have helped me a LOT... was going to buy a Silverado soon, but not anymore.... I don't need to spend 48k$ for a host of issues. I'll just keep my Nissan Frontier 4.0 until it totally dies... and thanks to you, I now know that the water pump is IN-side that 4.0 engine, something I did not know before finding Scotty. I'm going to see if there is a place I can make a donation to you for all the info you've given. And here's a tip in case you didn't know... to clear hazed plastic vehicle headlamp covers, try Mother's Mag Polish. Yep, the stuff used on aluminum. I had some minor hazing on my Frontier plastic headlamps, and just a few minutes hand-rubbing with that stuff and they now look almost factory-new... it's amazing! No water, just a mircoiber towel and a few minutes rubbing. Share with your friends. :-)
  • I have a 2011 Silverado 5.3 with 137k miles...no transmission issue and shifts smooth enough to not even hear it . Just depends on how you take care of them that goes with all vehicles. I have a small rear main seal leak which I've had on most my gms. That is the only weak point I've experienced and I've owned 6 of them. 2011 is the model I drive now and no issues
  • The Last time i was here this early I was pulling tree stumps with my 94' Celica.
  • @ilovetotri23
I was so glad you noticed the big truck go behind you! I was yelling at my computer, "Scotty, did you see that truck? Great video.
