"Don't be sad for me, I'm a Cartoon G, and my intent is to breathe, in a new world, don't be sad for me" I literaly have it on repeat in my head. Such a good line.
  • The first time I heard this song and focused on the lyrics, I was in shock. It feels like 2d is talking to you. After everything that happened, especially in plastic beach, the four of them were traumatized, but the fans have also felt bad about all that, and some have taken it very literally. In this song, 2d is saying that we don't have to feel bad about the previous events. He's a cartoon, and his story is finally starting to change for the better. It is a very strong reality check.

Sounds like 2D finally found his happiness like in the beginning of the humility music video I'm so proud of him I love you Gorillaz
  • It sounds like this was written for the fans who all felt bad for 2D because of his dark past, and now he’s happy and he’s saying “don’t be sad for me” as if he’s comforting us that he’s okay now and I can’t stop crying 😭😭🥲
  • I love that Gorillaz brings in indie artists all the time, introduces us to peeps we may not otherwise hear but I'm never upset with a song that primarily feature '2D's vocals.

Gorillaz never fail. It doesn't matter they've been around since 1998, they just keep churning out banger after banger every single album without fail. Some of the most consistent quality I've seen from any band.
  • Hearing this during their San Francisco concert last year was an experience I'll never forget. Thank you Gorillaz for everything.
  • "I can disappear, or lighten your day" gets me every time; he could choose to let his past take over and give up but he wants to make us happy. 2D is a treasure.
  • I love it, is like they are saying to us: "we still know how to do music like we use too, in the fists albums... But now we grow, we are different, we evolved, and we want to do something else, new. But those roots, that music u fell in love with, is still here."

One of 2 bands that I eagerly wait for new music. Hasn't changed since the 90s.

I dearly love this track. Something about it that just enhances the world around you. That said, there's also something concerning about it. Almost feels like it was intended to be some sort of "farewell" song.

Every song this album has been so crazy good. At this rate it'll be my favorite album. Not favorite Gorillaz album, but album in general.

Every Gorillaz song is art, this is an amazing song now in lyric video. 😍

From the perspective of a casual Gorillaz fan not really invested in the lore or characters, I can say that this song is actually incredible. The whole sound of it is done so perfectly
  • Arguably the best post-Plastic Beach Gorillaz tune to date. Great musical progression, and infectious energy.

I saw them for my birthday last October, and they played this song- and it really resonated with me, the visualizer paired with it and watching it live- as someone who has been a fan all their life, introduced by their father by watching their music videos via fios on-demand MTV when they were small, it made me almost cry seeing it. So glad the song has finally got here, so I can relive that moment Edit: for those confused, throughout their last tour they played a few unreleased songs- this being one of them and what in referring too.

This song came up towards the end of my shower, and it was reminding me of my youth and how long ive been listening to the gorillaz. Such an influential band. And the line “dont be sad for me” hit me reminding me of my recently deceased mother and i got out of the shower and cried so hard…. Then the music temp bumped up to the high energy end bit, and im just sitting there balling my eyes out in a room that sounded like a rave party. Love ya gorillaz, Love Ya Mother!

I instantly loved this song when first hearing it at the Denver concert during the 2022 North American Tour. There's only one thing I don't like about it and it could just be my anxiety coloring things but this song sounds too much like a series finale song. Gorillaz really has been helping me get through a lot these past few years and I cannot thank them enough for being that light in the darkness and spot of comfort.
