Tim thanks for showing the inside of the heater box. To me, it is fascinating to see how the heat transfer is accomplished. Appreciate it.
  • Hey Tim. I just finished rebuilding a heater box. The foam in mine was disintegrating so I decided to change all of it. I ordered two rolls of 1/4” thick 12x54” Neoprene self adhesive foam sheets off Amazon. I changed all the blend door foam, and the cover foam. To seal the heater box to the cab, I used normal 1/2” weatherstripping from Home Depot. I suggest you reconsider replacing or recoring the evaporator. It’s easy to change, and I ordered one off RockAuto. You’ll have to reuse the metal plates on the top and bottom of the old one and bend the coupler block a bit, but it’ll fit. I’m redoing the whole A/C system with new lines, a R134A Sanden compressor, and a condenser amongst other things. The truck had 0 charge when we got it so I figured it’s a better idea to just change it all rather than roll the dice with a system designed for R12.

Now I'm all caught up on your progress. Great strides on Larry's ReCreation into a Beast ! Great job as always Tim. 👍👍👍

Your doing the smart thing knocking at all the little things that would be a pain to do once assembled, keep up the great work dude,i look forward to the next part!
  • Hopefully all is well? I have been waiting to see what's next in your build. So hope this finds you and your family well. Best wishes. ✌🏻🧡🤘🌬 ❄️ 🌧 🇨🇦.
  • Hey brother. Maybe pressure test the a/c evaporator "sensuous" there. It'd be easy enough to do and would be worth it while it's all apart. It's coming along great.

Love watching your videos Tim teaches me a ton for the real world!

Hey Tim, I am curious if you have a video on adjusting/tuning a ve injection pump(smoke screw, power screw, etc.)
  • Tim, What are your thoughts on about putting a Cummins in a antique truck? I’ve had it on my mind since I started watching you. Maybe an old Mac truck?

The music at around 11:xx into the video reminded me a bit of like what can be found in Pelican's tunes. There is one of there albums that stands out, but I can't think of the name.
  • I would defiantly drill the holes for your hydroboost if you plan on doing it. It will be way easier now than when the trucks together. I’d also considering welding reinforcement where the cab cracks up by the cowl.

You could have done a video of its self on just the heater box

Question for you on the heater box is there anyway that you could put a prefilter for the air coming in to keep the inside airbox clean and prevent it from getting dirty or having any type of mold or mildew build up inside the box? Just a Food for thought or possibly designed some thing like a cabin air filter for these trucks.

Pretty sure the ic and non ic use a different fan mount. Which one do you want?
