Snakes in the Winter

I was cleaning out a rental house a few years ago in 58 degree rainy weather and found a copper head aswell under some stuff beside the house.. we threw away the stuff but left the snake in the yard; he wasn’t able to handle the 58degree weather and shortly passed away in the yard.. that’s been my only experience seeing one in the colder weather.
