Car companies having first dibs when you sell their car second hand or the fact that there's a time limit on how long you need to have the car before you can sell it seem incredibly dystopian to me

My favorite thing about the Deadmau5 C&D was that after he sold the Ferrari, he bought a Lamborghini Huracan, and asked Lamborghini company if he'd get in trouble for changing things. In true Lamborghini fashion, they stuck a finger up to Ferrari and said "you bought the car, do whatever you want to it". Thus, the Purracan was given life.

I'm pretty sure in the US that kind of contract would be unenforceable. It's your car. Legally I could slap Ford logos on my Corvette (if I had one) and neither company could do crap about it.

A guy at my local motorsport club bought a burnt out Ferrari that was an insurance write off and used it as a base for a rotary powered race car. The cease and desist followed soon after and he told them to pound sand. It made the news here in little old NZ and they ended up backing off.

I actually recieved a 'cease and desist' from Sony for telling them I was gonna start a Play Station Lounge with machines for people to pay and play online in 2003.
