Thank you for the tour!!! My last Hamvention was in 2006. Moved halfway across the world and until I am fully retired, probably won’t make it back for a year or two.

From Texas, living in Xenia currently... was very sad to miss hamvention because of work, but so glad to see and hear all the other hams and even made some good contacts while I was sitting in my office! 73 from W5TGL

Enjoyed this, I grew up by the fairground, completely different back then. Saw quite a few familiar faces as well. I served as a talk-in for many years when it was at Hara. My first Hamvention was its last year at the Montgomery County fairground.

I hope to make it to Hamvention someday. Shelby NC is the biggest I have been to. Sadly it’s not what it was in the early 80s but still nice. I like looking at old stuff and junk for parts. I had an elmer and his buddy that went every year in a Volkswagen camper van. I remember seeing them cooking chili and hot dogs on a Coleman stove outside. He has passed years ago. The spot they camped had a $350,000 Class A in it. Times have changed. Enjoy hamfests while you can. The crowds are getting smaller and older.

There is no younger people any where insight. Most are my age or older. What happens when all these people are pass away. Most of the old equipment will end up in landfills which should have been long ago. May be one or two will end up in storage spaces like my collection (I have spent 20,000 for storage alone since the 1990s) for items that are worth $2000. I am 65 years old from Canada and have attended this fest and the Fair Radio Sales in the 90s. Only item I am interested now are the urine bottles at 30:25. Thanks for this gentleman for this and the Fair radio sales videos.
