I think Samsung is trying to balance how much light diffusion they want on the oled screen. I think their reasoning behind is most people want little bit Matt finish cause there is always some sort of ambient light in the room. I have the QD-OLED Samsung TV from last year(I think is glossy), I’m excited to compare them side by side see how much different that Matt finish makes when I get my G8 in few days. By the way I think that remote is the exact one from their TVs.(or almost exact)

Are you sure the reduced black levels in bright environment / light shining on it is due to the matte display? QD-Oleds up until now has been known to have reduced black levels in bright environments. Matte/Glossy should only affect the fuzziness/clarity of the display, and I have heard that the 32" G8 Oled uses the same coating as the S95D, meaning it is matte yet clear. Can you comment on that?

What about oled burn in when used as a monitor? Lots of static icons and images will be there when used as desktop monitor.

My g8 oled came yesterday. 3090 was able to pull 120hz on warzone. Not bad. I love it
