Why is his yard such a mess?

Published 2019-03-16
I don't have the cash to be eccentric so that makes me odd/different. However that's not the whole story. In this video I try and explain a bit about one of the ways my autism and PTSD manifests itself. Limited to no executive function and very limited amount of time during the day when my brain is even working at 50%.

I hope this video may help some others but I'm going to use it as a tool. Every time someone has a go at me for the state of my yard or house I'm going to post a link to this video. That is going to help me cope a bit better.

I hope. :)

I produce videos on a bunch of topics from bees to prospecting and a stack of stuff in between but many of them show off the use of traditional vintage tools. If you see a tool that you would like for your own I probably won't sell you mine but I may have another in stock or I can get one from France, Germany, Japan or wherever. I make little bit of money from selling tools but mostly I just like to share them and share how to use them.

It takes a very strong person to talk about what you just did. Very honest and worded extremely well. I wish you nothing but the best for you and your family👍👍
  • Thanks peoples. I manage to be mostly functional for about 3 to 4 hours per day. Fully articulate about once per week. Very frustrating because there is so much i want to do but can't.

I so totally relate to every point in this. 😎 Right down to the messy yard & hospital ties.......
  • Thanks for sharing Stuart👍💪. Lost for words to describe how strong I think you and your wife are❤.

Completely makes sense and I get the same thing about functioning reasonably well in the morning and not so well later in the day. Its good to see that someone else truly gets it, Thanks.

What an amazing, emotional and brave story. If you ever need a coffee, pie or a partner digging holes for junk, maybe the odd nugget, please let me know, I am just down the road.

We are all on the spectrum somewhere. Caring with out rest, or closer to the point unrelenting stress will make you sick and kill you. Try of course to find any moment of peace as Eadward needs you no matter how if affects you and you do get points in Heaven for all your hard work and worry! In the suite next to mine is a Mother and daughter with significant emotional and some physical problems. It is difficult to be their neighbor and not lose it from time to time. Their actions seem very unusual and random. Of course it must be more difficult to be in their shoes. Good luck as always.

Keep up the good work, by the looks of it Sarah and yourself are doing a great job. You hit the nail on the head regarding these issues. Cheers Ps, your yard looks fine.

You've inspired me to try to do a little bit with my clutter. I know that there is at least some good stuff in there but I also know that there is lots that's not.
  • Well done mate , there's been times when I feel the same way , yep yards a mess with , stuff I can make use of , cant throw out etc. I look at stuff and don't see it for what it is I look for what I can use it for. I start things and just never finish off properly . And it don't help the wife's bipolar / boarder line personality disorder as is the daughter , life sometimes can be hard trying to stay as sane as I can. And yes from what people have said and described I've been borderline needing help. Stay strong mate we love the vid's we all ways here .
  • Well said mate. Completely understand you. Fortunately or unfortunately I can definitely relate.

Can so relate to much of what you said from the heart. Daily challenges... You have a great skill to get into words what you mean/think/feel... Seeing Eadward in this video got me teared up. It’s close to home. Our daughter with multiple disabilities is in hospital at present for a weeklong EEG to help figure out her seizures. She had 2 today which were video’d & data recorded. She has seizures weekly on average more or less 😢. Next I’m in Bendigo I’ll make contact & if you’d be up for it, I’d like to have a cuppa & chat with you, or go for a pan. Anyhow, take care &keep chipping away ⛏⚖️☕️

This was very interesting to watch👍 You nailed that whole aspect👌 - And you're the only YT channel that manages to make me produce something wet in the corner of my eyes. Btw, I only have ADHD to fight. And that's nothing in comparison to what Sarah and you were "fighting"👊🏻 - Finally, your and my backyard look the same😱🤪 ......I will now make a higher fence😇
  • !Manhug Stuart  I was born into and raised in a war zone.  Daily violence, recite all the different forms, yeah that's right all of them.  I was targeted and preyed upon by a pedophile from 14-18 years of age.  I have trouble putting together a functional day as well.  Thank you for sharing.  A lot of people know someone who is broken, broken but trying, broken beyond repair.  Please be part of the solution.
