This is how I realistically romanticize my life 💕 (it will change your perspective!)

The key to romanticizing life is to see the beauty in your own life, instead of trying to make your life aesthetically perfect or comparing it to someone elses' seemingly perfect life.

“But if you knew you might not be able to see it again tomorrow, everything would suddenly become special and precious, wouldn’t it?”
― Haruki Murakami

We are so used to seeing edited lives on social medias that we're forgetting that that's not real life. It's taking away the joy we can experienced in our tiny daily mundane moments 😊

Dear Sophie, I’m the silent type of audience who love watching your videos without making comments. Yet this video inspires me so much to do so. Your message came at a perfect time when I’m hoping to make changes in some aspects of my life. While there is much to be grateful for, I noticed myself subtly looking at the lack or imperfections either in myself or in my environment based on the externalities projected by others. Thank you so much for bringing this message to clear light so that we could live the life true to our heart and soul. Love from Singapore 💕
  • I just went on vacation, but my sister-in-law paid for it because she is dying with a terminal illness and wanted one last family trip, though we don't publicize that reason online at all. It makes you appreciate things a lot more when you see how quickly life can go by and how quickly it can be taken away too. What a beautiful video. I always appreciate your statements too.

I love the idea of treating more moments like “first times”. You’re right that going on a walk with a dog or a toddler, even if it is the same walk you take every day, is always exciting. There is this huge anticipation of finding a new leaf, a new scent, a new person, or a new experience that keeps them moving forward ready to explore. This idea also helps us all slow down and pay attention. Such an important reminder!

Please do more videos like this. I too love watching day in the life videos, morning routines, etc
  • This really hit the spot today, thank you. Have been feeling pretty bummed out, because I want changes but currently have to accept what is. I think we all only look at the lives of others when we’re dissatisfied in some way. What I like about your videos is how much you remind us all of the power we have to curate each moment. Knowing the power to create is always with me just makes my soul melt. 💕💐 ps hope you feel better now. I’m recovering from an awful cold and wonder if it’s my body’s way of making me just take stock of the magic of having good health over anything else.

Your video reminded me of one of my favourite quotes. "If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore; and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown." It always reminds me to appreciate the beauty around us with that childlike wonder, instead of taking it for granted!

Would love an updated minimalist video on skincare, beauty, etc. the obsession with all these skincare and makeup products is what seems to suck me in to a black hole 😢
  • I choose not to compare. When I feel myself comparing, I try to go do something else. It's REALLY hard not to it's so human to do that but honestly? Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. I'm a lot happier using social media less. I'm happier just enjoying the little things and feeling gratitude as much as possible. Life is hard but it could be SO MUCH WORSE. And HAS been for me specifically!

I started my minimalism/de-cluttering journey during the pandemic and was not even aware there was such a thing called "minimalism". However, seeing your videos inspire me more on living my life simply and intentionally. My life has changed so much since I have learned to detach myself from things (and even some people) and started to create a more meaningful life outside the culture of consumerism.
  • @GuizelleM
Your videos always make me feel calm and reassured.
