The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

Watching this in 2022 after watching Serena win her Doubles match with partner Jabeur at Wimbledon at the age of 40 and after not playing for 12 months. She is still amazing

Talk about longevity and greatness, Serena is still dormantly active on tour and none of this years finalists were born then.

So the US Open women's singles trophy remained in the Williams household 5 consecutive years? That's pretty awesome!

The thing that I always found funny during Serena's career....is how the "pro American" crowd was never too pro American during her matches.. Oh well.....turns out , it didn't matter.
  • This is the moment that we can't forget, this is the moment that we are witnessing the GOAT se23na the queen.
  • Se23na, won in usa open gs in thr year 1999 at the age of 17.until now over 2 d3cades still playing at the age of 39 that's unbelievable and amazing player that i've ever seen in my life.perfect indeed!
  • 1999 was such an epic women's sports year. The USWNT won the WWC, New York & Houston played a WNBA finals series for the ages with "the shot" by T Spoon - and then this. 8th grade me had the best summer ever watching all these amazing events.
