Fun fact: Napoleon wanted to enlist in the Russian Imperial Army, but he changed his mind, because then in Russia there was a rule for foreigners that they had to serve with a lower rank, relative to their original one.

Napoleon is probably the best general of all time incredible video

Spain fought with regular army and guerrilla (by the way, the word guerrilla comes precisely from the Spanish at this moment in history). The regular army was not able to stand without the help of the British and the guerrilla was, along with the invasion of Russia, the start of the end for Napoleón. These two extremes of Europe were of impossible digestion for the French.

You made a mistake here, Moscow wasn't the capital of the Russia during the Napoleonic Wars, Saint Petersburg was, from 1730 to 1918. It only became the capital in 1917 when the Bolsheviks moved the seat of the government due to the German invaders getting too close to Saint Petersburg.

when napoleon invaded rusia it looked like his army ran out of steam. 600k to 70k in a span of one month

Napoleon: You will all stop trading with the United Kingdom. Portugal: No 🧐. We need to export our Port wine.
  • People often forget that Spain slowly bled Napoleons forces. They were getting mauled by Guerella troops
  • @napster1987
Napoleon said before he dies: I was defeated in Spain. Later, propaganda of Hollywood's movies did the job to hide this, as always. Why Spain gets more troops: Spain, in this time, was Peninsula and America (20 times the size of actual Spain). That's not in this map, but to have context, you need to know that. Even if French had conquered Peninsula, Spanish were in both sides of Atlantic.

I love how you guys made France red like it's the villain in most timelapses.
  • @Apenimon444
damn, we've all learned how Napoleon's army was fameously ganged by european kingdoms after their loss in Russia, but I feel like the Spanish stand here is quite more impressive. Numbers just grow on both sides for quite some time
  • @BattleMarche
Bro ur vids are getting better and better but this vid is NEXT LEVEL!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
  • @Martmi29
Numbers after the invasion of Russia don't make sense. Napoleon had a couple hundred thousand troops in Germany and at Leipzig.
  • this is so good, i have a suggestion, put city names on the map but its ok, you dont have to
  • Solo España le plantó cara, los demas inclinaban la cabeza a su paso por toda europa, hasta que llego a rusia,240.000 franceses perdieron la vida en España.
  • i love at 7:18 Napoleon was holding back i dont even know how many time the russians. That just shows how good he was.
  • @Randomn_Polandball
What happen to France in the end was almost like what happened to Germany at the end of WW2 Both defeated by Russia
  • @tritium1998
There are many things wrong in this video, but I enjoyed the timing with the song getting somber around 1809-1812 when most of Europe was allied with France.
  • @xenotypos
It's a good video but the very big mistake for the campaign of Germany (1813) kinda ruins it. It wasn't 30k but around 300k/400k on Napoleon's side.
