They were huge for me. Glad you enjoyed. They have many more great songs.

Love these gals. Was lucky enough to hear them live a couple of times in the 80's. They are the real deal, Harri. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂

The Indigo Girls are criminally underrepresented on you tube. Please do the song Ghost next. It is incredibly beautiful and touching. Thank you for this!
  • And if it ever was there and it left does it mean it was never true??? Brilliant and gut wrenching.
  • @Cynthia...
Very nice I havent heard this for ages and you are right about the harmonies. Thanks Catherine 💜 and Harri.
  • Of all the great and classic bands, I actually own more Indigo Girls CDs than any other...other than the Pink Floyd box set.

One of my favorite songs by them is “Least Complicated.” And “Fugitive” from the Swamp Ophelia album.

I first came across the Indigo Girls when they did a track called Kid Fears with Michael Stipe from REM.
  • That's actually my favorite line as well...my next from them will be the language or the kiss...I was torn

Thanks for this Catherine. I have always loved the harmonies by the Indigo Girls. Female voices blending like this creates a heavenly sound. Nice review Harri. 🌺✌️
  • They are definitely contemporary folk but more like "folk plus." 🥰 There are strings (including violin, cello) on the album, Swamp Ophelia, that this song Mystery is on, and the Roches do some backing vocals on this song as well as on their previous (superb) album Rites of Passage. Indigo Girls are from Atlanta in the USA South, but the Corrs, that's a good comparison! Thanks for listening to Mystery. My favorite line is "You like to stand in the line of fire/Just to show you can shoot straight from your hip"

I first saw a music video for their song "Closer to Fine". Their harmonies were awesome and their vocals were invigorating. Best of all was their virtuosity on their guitars! They started out powerful and fast, then took it up several notches. Powerful musicians on par with Bonnie Raitt.

try Galileo (don't watch the video, just listen), Ghost, and Amy's cover of Romeo and Juliet
