I’m local to you and have 3 Incrediballs in full sun. They do quite well but I do have them on drip with extra emitters.

Your yard is stunning. I could sit out there for hours just looking at the beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees.

Your hydrangea collection is better than a nursery!!!

If you have clay soil, adding Gypsum powder and using a pitchfork, will help break down the clay. I used this approach for a massive fishtail fern. The soil was rubbish, pure clay.....so I used Gypsum and compost, left it for 2 months, then dug a larger hole, added a bag or 2 of garden mix and today its just thriving. Ive since added some clivias, bromeliads and mini lomandra grasses. And a kowhai tree from seed. It's a dry shade based garden and different from the other parts of my garden. Jo.😊

Hydrangeas are my favorite. I purchase one new type each year. Years ago, in my grandmother's garden, I grew to love them.
  • @001maynard
Man, that hydrangea hedge is incredible.
  • The hydrangeas are beautiful! …you’ve definitely begun instilling a love for them in me!

About the Zinfin Doll, I have a few. I read that they were discontinued because of complaints.that they burned easy and, that the stems didnt hold up. Ive not particularly cared for them until... maybe NOW. Its Almost june and will be my 3rd (LEAP!) year with them and without having bloomed yet, I already noticed a HUGE difference in their vigor, size, and habit. I CANT WAIT to see them THIS year! I suppose, many people dont hold their fire through that sleep, creep, leap wait, esp when some plants may be stellar during their "creep years". If i was asked my opinion a year ago, Id give them a fair/poor review and voice my regret not getting a Vanilla Strawberry instead, but after seeing my little hedge this year, confirmed by your early experience with them, we may realize we are EXTREMELY FORTUNATE to have grabbed these gems while they were available!!! 😁😁😁😁
  • Pop Star Hydrangeas bloom on Old and New Wood. So scratch those branches before you cut them. I’m in zone 7b and mine took a while to get leaves on the older branches. It grew from ground first then many weeks later the old wood started getting leaves. I planted mine this January. in fact I think mine took until last week in May for the old branches to get leaves.

I am an old Sourhern girl trying to garden in the bug infested sauna of the south northwest Florida. I love watching you and your beautiful garden. You really make me want to step up my shrub game. I love hydrangeas but the heat and humidity here kick us both.
  • @lindamiller394
