Nevada Smith Starring Steve McQueen, Karl Malden, Brian Keith, Arthur Kennedy and Suzanne Pleshette is a 1966 American Western film about the American West in 1890s. Outlaws torture and brutally kill the father and Indian mother of young Max Sand who sets out to avenge their deaths.
Young Sand a half-breed finds his parents murdered. He vows to avenge their brutal deaths.

Sand meets Jonas Cord (Brian Keith), a gunsmith who tries to persuade him to give up his vendetta. Cord teaches Sand how to shoot a journey that takes Sand, now calling himself Nevada Smith, to Louisiana’s swamps where he meets Pilar (Suzanne Pleshette) who helps him to escape with the killer who he later kill and go west

Max tracks down Jesse Coe to Abilene, Texas with help a dance hall girl. Max deliberately commits a bank robbery to be sent to the same prison as Bowdre located deep within Louisiana's swamps. Max persuades Bowdre to escape with him, planning to kill him in the swamp. Pilar, a local Cajun girl help Max but later die in the swamp from a snake bite. Max kills Bowdre. And continue his mission of vengeance.

    Watch the movie. This is just a 4:01 clip. One of Steve McQueen's most poiniont, and a truly brutal story. Extremely well written, and the savagery and prejudice we still see today. Take the time. Worth the watch. Cheers.
  • "Vengeance is mine says Jehovah' I will repay." Yes, that's true, but as imperfect people sometimes you just gotta do it yourself, and Max does the job in this movie. It's a great story!
