Times they are a-changin'…
With COVID vaccinations becoming widespread, savings rates high, and consumers ready to spend, the economy is reopening and rebounding with gusto.

All of these developments are creating new opportunities and challenges for bond investors.

Bond prices fall when interest rates rise and vice versa. After a 40-year bull market in bonds, with interest rates declining to record lows, has the bottom finally been reached after many false starts? How real is this uptick in rates and what does it mean for bond investors?

Our guest on WEALTHTRACK this week is Mary Ellen Stanek, Chief Investment Officer of Baird Advisors, and President of the Baird Funds, where she heads up the Fixed Income Team overseeing $91 billion dollars worth of bond investments.

Stanek discusses the rapidly changing conditions and her team's all-weather bond strategy in what she calls uncharted waters.

Most investors and traders see this as an advantage to add to there existing position.I think it's time to think like a Bear, invest like a Bull. Trader explores the ins and outs of Wall Street wizardry and the art of betting on business. The aim is earning profit and achieving financial freedom within the shortest period of time.

Good video but keep in mind this is pre-Delta variant. I'd like to know what she has to say now Nov. 2021.

In the current climate, they didn’t say anything about TIPS.
  • @annap8328
Too complex and difficult to understand for a regular investor.
  • @ozzy5146
this lady takes too long to get to the point.
  • The problem with the guests on WealthTrack is that they act as though everything will develop like it always has. I question that wisdom given current economic uncertainties. There may be great investments in the future, but they may very well be in non-traditional asset classes or limited in the asset classes that have done well in the past.

I found it a bit difficult to listen to her. But her final recommendation surprised me as i'm somewhat in agreement. Although I'm primarily a dividend person, and if I were not, I would likely choose something similar to Paul Merriman's Four Fund portfolio. 25% SP 500 fund (VFIAX), 25% Large-cap value (VVIAX), 25% Small-cap blend (VTMSX), 25% Small-cap value (VSIAX)
