This channel has helped me get through a lot of rough times on the last few years. Everything my life got stressful, I could and did often turn on the Townsends and listen to fiddles and watch things from a simpler time.

Every time I start grumbling about the internet not being worth the idiocy one comes across, I remember this channel and figure it's worth it.
  • Fresh baked bread and good baked beans! Sign me up! I think dried beans are overlooked a lot, but they keep damn near forever, are a good source of protein and fiber, and i think they taste good. Anyone interested in prepping or survival should have a large store of dried beans. It's a staple.

Loved this series. As a cook for a large family, I really appreciate the work that went into just the cooking. I can’t imagine how much more went into the videography, research, period dress, materials, etc. If you don’t know, you are very appreciated for all you do. Thanks again for letting us learn from you.

I so appreciate you bringing to light what our forefathers went through to create our beloved country ❤ We are so privileged today!
  • I think they should play your videos in every classroom from elementary school through high school. Thanks for the great videos.

I LOVE the screen cap of you making bread at the start of the stream ! It’s elegant but also it’s like “ya just making bread here . “
  • I started watching your channel in 2020 shortly after I had to begin staying home due to COVID-19. My dog Greyfriar and I would sit and watch each of your episodes, often doing the very recipes you've covered in the show. He passed away later that year and I struggled being able to watch anymore. When I saw this video post, it brought back so many memories. It makes me happy to see you still doing videos and now I've been binge watching your channel again. Thanks for all you do. I live in Kentucky and would love to make it to your store one day.

It's amazing both how consistent these videos have been (the newer ones are obviously more skillfully made, but the overall feel is very similar) and how much Jon's cooking skills have improved. That first episode has some rough parts cooking-wise compared to newer ones (knife skills especially).
  • I love that your thumbnails for the videos are not click baity. They stand out from the other youtube annoyingness and give me something actually good to watch
  • I absolutely loved this video!! So interesting how people cooked back then. Thank you so much for sharing this 💕🙏🙏
  • A big thank you for your time and perfect job men, i love this Century

This is a wealth of wisdom. If the electrical society shuts down, we already know exactly what to do to feed and provide for our families. Well done @Townsends. Thank you.
