This retrospective isn't so much about the history of the NES, but about all the memories we share about the system, commercials, movies cartoons, merchandise, and all the experiences we had with playing games. For this video I compiled archival news footage, commercials, gameplay, lots of shots, and home movies from my good friend Tyler at My Retro Life (see his channel link below) to really highlight all the idiosyncrasies of the Nintendo Entertainment System. I hope you enjoy!

Being born in 1980..... I remember all of it 🙂
  • Im so lucky to be born in 1981. I had such an amazing childhood. toys, video games, cartoons, movies. I was then and still am a massive nintendo fanboy.

I was born in 1994, so all of this I never experienced. But watching this somehow gave me hella nostalgia and made me want to go back to these times so bad. I grew up on the N64 and Playstation but this... this is awesome.

The nostalgia was so strong and wonderful that I didn't even care hearing the word "remember" every sixth word
  • I cant say how many times I've rewatched this video. This is not only my favorite nescomplex video, but has to be the best video on the NES here on youtube.

This brought back so many memories. Nothing like being a kid in the early 80’s.

  • Kids who threw away boxes and the sleeves..........GUILTY! I'm still mad about it 😂. This video was like a time portal. Loved it!
  • God the late 80's and early/mid 90's were great. Definitely remember it all.

I got the NES for Christmas too, but my father was working outside of my town, I wait 3 days until my father came home and connect the nes to the TV. I remember looking at the box for hours. The best Christmas ever.
  • This is simply one of the finest video's on YouTube. I've watched it twenty times now and it's just brilliant.
