How do I use a smartphone directly without a battery?. How to turn on the mobile phone without battery? In this video, we turn on a Huawei Honor 3C Lite type mobile phone without using a battery and with a voltage reducer module.

Using an old normal adapter (it doesn't matter what voltage it is) and LM2596 step-down module, we turned this old mobile phone into a landline phone.

Warning: Mobile phone batteries have different voltages. In this video, the battery voltage is 3.9 volts.
Warning: The battery power input terminals in different mobile phones may be different.

  • Only 26 likes and four comments. I wonder why. This is by far, the most convincing video that I came across on the youtube about using phones without battery. Thank you!!

wont work on most of the phones without 10k resistor between + and middle contact (thermistor in battery)

Thanks a lot! But please what if I want to do it with 10 or more phones. I have looked at adjustable power supply, but hope you might have a good advice. The problem for me as a traveler is also weight, and space in the luggage. I need to remove the batteries, because it's not accepeted in the check in baggage, and also not to much in carry on. (I am also thinking about using power from my laptop)

The output voltages may dropped thats why it shows the battery only at 71percent. Your dc to dc converter may burnt for long time operation. You must use a higher amperage for prolonged operation.

Do this as a conversation starter when boring company comes over, rather than various magic tricks.
  • Will It Work With LG V20 ? AND also Tell How Long We Can use With This Method ? Can i use a mobile for 4 or 5 hours continuesly??

Ja som takto riešil tablet, ale neviem aký odpor by bol vhodný na tretí prívod. Neviete poradiť, ako sa to zisťuje?

Since the resistor tricked the phone into thinking that a battery is present, why not then simply connect the power source into the phone USB port?
  • Is that safe.. because I have phone that I can't use because I don't have the budget to buy battery and it's also hard to find the type of battery... what is the usual voltage to start a phone..
  • It works But a messege shows up "please make sure you are using a compatible battery and charger" when I connect charging(and Data together) cable to PC through USB Port for data transmission ,Will this damage the phone?Another problem is phone can't be turned on when regulated power and data transmission cable are both connected to the phone ,is it normal?

hey friend, if you are still active around here i have a question, if i connect the red and black wire to a power bank instead of a 5v power brick would i be able to use the power bank like an external battery because the converter would step down the voltage to 3.8v anyway?
