šŸ¤™šŸ» I was raised on the Oregon Coast in Seaside Oregon, so I know Astoria, Oregon well - this is the best guide to experiencing the BEST of Astoria without all the fluff. It's the only guide you really need to know Astoria, Oregon and what to do, where to eat and what is worth exploring!

There is a lot to do in this awesome Oregon coast town. This is my top 10 list of things to do where to eat and all my thoughts on the adventures and must-see things around the oldest town on the Oregon coast, as well as the most pivotal and important town on the west coast since the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1805. I hope that this guide helps you experience Astoria to the best of your ability. As a top 10 list, I had to carefully select and rank the best things to do.

I'm going to list a few things here, *SPOILERS:Columbia River Maritime Museum, the Astoria Column, The goonies filming locations in Astoria, Fort George Brewery, okay that's enough, just watch the video.

It breaks down where to eat, hike, explore, must see things if you are or aren't from the area, this guide will be very useful. In this Oregon Coast guide I take you through best eateries to where they filmed the goonies to the riverfront and the megler Astoria bridge and from the waterfalls to downtown to the peter iredale fort George, etc. AND RANK THEM! Keep in mind, that this video is from a local perspective.

Who Are We?
My name is Jackson & my wife is Megan, we are both Oregonians who love traveling. She loves the experience and views and I love capturing them - together, we are a team with a 3-year plan of going from full-time employed to full-time travelers. Please subscribe, or give helpful feedback and comments on how we can share our experiences and make better videos! Currently, I dream of Bali surf sessions and sunsets while Megan dreams of the Swiss Alps and the Italian Dolomites... We will make it work! šŸ˜ŠšŸŽ„šŸŒŽ

  • I used to build 500ā€™ tall towers. One guy on the crew would bring a magazine to make paper airplanes. Some would just dive, others would fly quite a ways. Once in a while it would catch the air currents just right and fly for miles. You could just see a tiny reflection to know if was still in flight.

  • I freaking love your videos dude. My partner and I are heading to Oregon in May and you are giving us so many spots to see and experience. CANNOT WAIT
  • Weā€™ll done Jackson! Great video shots as well as concise details to be aware of at each location.
  • Dear friend, I have lived in Oregon for a year, and it is truly amazing what you created here for us to enjoy or just get back some of the most amazing memories I created there. Nowadays, I struggle with a lot of stress due to much work, but this really brought me back in time and I feel much more uplifted. Thank you again for sharing and wishing you the best :)
  • I live in St. Helens, grew up here and on Puget Island on the Columbia River commercial fishing. You hit most of the spots I would recommend. The Portway Tavern is a historic tavern with great food and a collection of life rings from boats and ships, one of mine included. If you head upriver you have spots like Cathlamet, Stella, Rainier, and St. Helens that all have different things to offer and are historically significant. I mention Stella because that was where they made the Cigar Rafts of logs that were sent to San Francisco after the earthquake and fires, they have a really cool little museum. Cathlamet is like stepping back into Mayberry RFD, they have a wonderful marina with camping, the bridge to Puget Island, and the Ferry to Westport Oregon. St. Helens has wonderful access to the river and the city has a park on Sand Island with camping, docks, and a shuttle during the summer. My family originally came to Astoria from Norway and Sweden for the commercial fishing, then moved upriver to Puget Island and Cathlamet, my parents moved to St. Helens 50 miles upriver. That is where I am now, at the Marina in my sailboat kicking back with my Siamese cat.

This was a great video about Astoria! I had the pleasure of performing at a restaurant/ nightclub back in the early 1980ā€™s and I have fond memories of this charming town! Too bad the old Shilo was erased from existence but the memories live on. Rock on Mike and Bruce!

Thank you for putting out this video. My mind was boggled with where to go. I tried Trip Advisor, but there isnā€™t much there. This video made me excited for an upcoming trip. Please make more videos on Oregon :)
  • @gh8067
Great job! My husband and I grew up in the area. Weā€™ve taught our children to always look for airplanes before heading up the column. Weā€™ve found that once people have made the climb up those stairs, they tend to look longingly at our airplanes and often ask where to get them. Weā€™ve joked about doing a side hustle of selling those airplanes for $1 each once weā€™re at the top.šŸ˜‰
  • Thank you for this awesome video! My fiance and I will be there later this summer for the first time and I really didn't know what to do there. We've been to the Oregon Coast many times but never north of Newport. Your video is really well done and I am even more excited to visit Astoria now! Great job!
