From Slade, travel east on KY 15 for 3.2 miles to Tunnel Ridge Road on the left. Follow Tunnel Ridge Road 0.7-mile to the Pinch-em-tight parking area on the left.
Note: This video depicts only a tiny fraction of the vast wilderness around the Red River. Plan ahead to avoid dehydration, exhaustion, inclement weather, and dangerous falls. Getting lost will obviously exacerbate all the above risks.
Special thanks to the following artists for their musical inspiration:
Goo Goo Dolls
The Offspring
Nobuo Uematsu
A Perfect Circle

Hiked to Hanson's Point for the first tine today. Was on the Pinch Em Tight trail and ran into Johnny Bluegrass and Country Style. Talked for a minute, super nice guys. Please continue to make these videos, very helpful and entertaining! Now trying to decide my next hike they recommend.

recently stumbled upon your channel, I've been using it as a visual companion to Hinterlands by Mr. Goodpaster while I scout out an upcoming backpacking trip to the gorge including camping near Hanson's point. Thank you for your hand work.

Love the Radiohead you snuck in there.

Can anyone confirm the hike time from the parking lot on Tunnel Ridge Rd to the first camp on the Hanson's Point trail? I'm guesstimating 1.7 miles+400-500 Feet+.29 miles=45-60 minutes. Sound about right?

To anyone trying to find Hanson's point for the 1st time. Right where the spur trail hits the Rough trail there is a white diamond on a tree, on the tree just before it there is a small arrow carved pointing the way. Although crowded with tiny pines and logs on the trail it is easy to follow. You don't really go through the 1st large wooded camp area( I made that mistake), instead hook to the right and follow the trail back into the pines. At the 2nd large camp area go through it and find the trail again leading directly to the point. From that last little camp spot you catch a glimpse of the point and you are there. Bring lots of water. If there are a lot of people out there wait a few minutes until it clears out, one bump into a friend out there would be the last thing you ever do.

Thanks for the info guys! I am leaving at 5:00am tomorrow morning and I am following the same route you all did to Hanson's Point. I have never seen it before.

Just hiked Hanson's Point yesterday with my 21 month old. It was rough but completely worth it.
