About my mom // adult child of an alcoholic perspective

My mother is an exceptionally kind person. If you met her today, you’d agree - she is an exceptionally kind person. This is who my mother is. That is exactly why it is so painful that she has been in the grips of addiction for my whole life. I speak often about the destructive effects of her addiction and my experience as the child of an alcoholic, but it is important to note that I recognize the true human being she is. This is about my mother as a whole person.

    I'm an alcoholic mother (thankfully in recovery). I am a single mother and my son is an only child. I quit drinking when he was sixteen,, and we have always had a very loving relationship. But I'm sure he has scars he doesn't even know and that I don't really remember that well. I just wanted to thank you for your video; and I can only say your kindness in the way you speak about your mother has touched me deeply. I'm gonna share your channel with my son to see if this helps him understand the root of some of the problems he is facing now as a young adult who is figting to understand his fears.
