Castlevania From Netflix

Season 1 Episode 4 - "Monument" Beginning Scene.

I love the conversation between the demon and the priest. This is definitely one of my favorite scenes from the first season. I tried looking for the complete scene, but all I just found was "incomplete" scenes. There for I've uploaded it myself, and no longer need to search for it.

Blue Fangs is voiced by Fred Tatasciore

I'm loving all the political references in the comments, and laughing my ass off at the sexual commentary about the demon.

Non-christians watching this scene: "Get him" Christians watching this scene: "Get him"

"lies? In your house of God? No wonder why he has abandoned you.." The way this was delivered is absolutely immaculate

I love that the true horror of this scene isn’t a ‘there is no god’ kind of thing, but instead the even more terrifying ‘your god abandoned you for what you have done’

Priest: "W-What are you doing?!" Demon: "Killing monsters."
  • "Lies? In your House of God? No wonder He has abandoned you." The sardonic tone in these sentences is perfect.

I wonder if Blue Fangs was once a fallen priest himself. He is so certain about everything he explained, from Church etiquette, never denouncing the existence of God, and even a reference to a Judas Kiss. I had this epiphany after the Fly recalls his life as a Greek philosopher.

I like how the demon basically goes "While he hates me, I kinda understand how he works, so no shit he hates you too."

The fact that the Bishop thought the church was safe and didn't let any of the screaming townsfolk in shows how far from God he is
  • @Bowfella
Bruh. Even the Demon went like "Yeah we're bad, but holy shit you disgust me".
  • @firstlast9846
“We couldn’t be here without you” is such a good line… the sins of humans are the literal reason these Demons exist.
  • I love the implication the demon makes by saying the church is an "empty box." It implies that God DID inhabit that church, but retracted His blessing due to the corruption of the priesthood. Simply chilling.

I love how the demon closes the door after entering. He may be from Hell but atleast he has maners
  • "My life's WORK is in His name!" "Your life's work makes him puke." Metal as FUCK

Major props to the priest's voice actor for capturing the downward spiral into fear. 1. Proud and confident ("Are the Speakers dead?") 2. Shaken but standing strong ("You cannot enter the house of God.") 3. Confidence and faith begin to crumble ("My life's work is in His name.") 4. One last, desperate reach for his status/confidence. ("I...I am the bishop of Gresit!") 5. Absolute fear ("She was a witch!")

The fact that I have 110% respect for the blue eyed demon after that one conversation is crazy. - Is respectful of God and his true followers - Does not lie once - Kills the true demon in their mist - Calmly educates the sinner - Me, realising that if the priest does reincarnate as a demon, the only thing he would be able to do is be absolutely terrified of himself and everything around him. All because of how the blue eyed demon broke him down emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually in less than 5 minutes. The pure dopamine hit from all this makes it my second favourite scene in all of castlevenia.

"Your god's love is not unconditional. He does not love us, and he does not love you." Dude...
  • Blue Fangs went the extra mile here. First he closes the door when he comes in. As people have said, he was raised in hell, not a barn. Secondly, he kills the bishop's spirit before he kills his body. Just strips him of all his comforting lies. The bishop can't even die believing he's doing god's work. Just savage.

As a religious man myself I Love how they respect religion and have the archbishop get told off by demons saying he is nothing but a lunatic who uses God as a way to justify his crimes.
