Former burglar Octave "Oky" Durham and art detective Arthur Brand look at nine art-theft scenes from popular TV shows and movies and rate them based on realism. Octave Durham is no longer involved in criminal activity. Since he has reformed and spent time in prison, he works with detective Arthur Brand to solve international art and jewellery heists.

They look at "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999), "The Monuments Men" (2014), "The Art of the Steal" (2013), "Topkapi" (1964), "Ocean's Twelve" (2004), "Dr. No" (1962), "Black Panther" (2018), "Hudson Hawk" (1991), and "The Blacklist" S2E14 (2015).

Could anyone walk out of a gallery with a piece of art? How are gallery security guards trained? Is gallery CCTV actually monitored? Do thieves ever abseil in from the ceiling? And does Interpol actively chase down stolen paintings?

I wanna see someone who does something super mundane do one. Like “professional janitor rates cleaning scenes in movies” or something
  • "you see two paintings that were stolen, But they were not in the movies." "they were at my friends house" LOL
  • I love how the actual thief is way harsher on the movies than the detective lol.
  • @yungzyzzle
“If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.” “I did crimes, I can do the time.” yo this man is legend
  • that last joke tho "is there any chance you are leaving home tonight" good to see they still have their sense of humour despite being on opposite sides once

Someone in Hollywood should do a art heist movie but they need to hire these two as the consultants.
  • @malsnakamoto
This literally the "You hacked the government now you work for them" trope that you see in Hollywood. I love their dynamic.
  • @Aldridge517
These two are a dynamic duo. I love how Oky gives everything low ratings because he used to be a professional thief and he is not impressed.
  • @bktm
    The perfect duo doesn’t exis-
  • @Cationna
I'm now absolutely convinced Mr Oky came to the side of law reinforcement just to judge the younger crowd of thieves on how amateurish their jobs are. lol

Love the juxtaposition of analyses. Detective: "One time a museum in Venezuela found out they had a fake Matisse and hoo boy." Former Thief: "Hoo boy is right... can you imagine stealing the Matisse from that museum and selling it to some Heavy Guy who finds out it's fake? You're dead." Detective internally: "I ... was thinking about the humiliation of the museum but ... damn."

"they were at my friend's house" "oh there's a safe!" "is there any chance you're leaving your house today?" They're literally 2 besties where one is a prefect and one is a troublemaker and I'm living for it.
  • I'd quite happily watch more of these two gentlemen talking about detecting and recovering stolen art!
  • @MilkT0ast
“I did a lot of time” That chuckle from both of them afterwards convinced me these guys know what they’re talking about
  • @kyrab7914
I love the shared history you can see in their jokes. In particular, Oky makes Arthur laugh with his comment about doing the time, and the ending story wherein Arthur knew only one person would understand how that felt... And the incredible chemistry they must share for Oky to be able to go "so are you planning on leaving home tonight?" and them LAUGH together.
  • That last story sounds like the perfect ending to a movie about these two. Loved this episode, big ups
  • @JuFated
'I was never looking for a safe. I wanted paintings. If there's a safe, ooh a bonus!' -This is charming xD
  • @noaemanuels5454
In case any of you where wondering how legit ocky was. Homeboy stole TWO Van Gogh paintings. This guy is as real as it gets.
