And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you honor someone.

It felt so weird not hearing “now here’s the host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebeck.” Rip Alex you will be missed, thank you for all the time you put into the show and for all the memories you gave me and my family we always would sit around and watch you host, you will be missed dearly

"We can honour him by playing the game he loved." That is why the people need Jeopardy. We love you Alex, and thank you Ken for those kind words.

Ken Jennings was by far my favorite guest host. His reverence for Alex was deeply touching and how he ended every show with, "...and thank you, Alex." Spectaculous 😁
  • This is one of the best historic moments in Jeopardy, with Ken Jennings honoring the late Alex Trebek.

You can hear the pain in his voice. We all loved Alex. If anyone can honor him it's Ken, his love of Alex and the game really shows. I hope he is the new host

Ken showed real class and humility. I think he's gonna do just fine.

Trying to fight back tears while talking about Alex. I hope Jennings does a great job.

For his first time hosting Jeopardy, I think he did a good job considering it was the first show filmed after Alex’s death. And he has a connection to the show so that made it easier to watch.

You can hear him fighting back tears. He'd make a great permanent host and would do Alex proud. RIP Alex; we all love and miss you!

Ken makes sense as the new host... even has the demeanor that feels right

Ken's first appearance was very professional, and frankly, heartwarming. It almost felt as though Alex was standing next to him, his hand on Ken's shoulder, and whispering in Ken's ear, "You can do it, my friend - I'm happy for you and wishing you Godspeed and good luck on your first Jeopardy evening." I think Ken has the potential of maturing into an individual whom Alex would be proud of, both professionally and personally.

Ken, if you are reading this, I dare say you did an outstanding job as guest host! And no finer nor more loving tribute to Alex could have possibly been given as the one you gave at the opening of this episode. While nobody could ever replace Alex, you most definitely can (and I dare say, should) succeed him as host.
  • @shaleyvale272
I teared up hearing this. Ken is the perfect person to take over.
  • @triggeredcat120
You could tell Ken was about to break into tears when he talked about Alex.

i gotta say that the first guest host of Jeopardy with Ken Jennings was very impressed and i love it.
  • @octocoq
I like to think this is exactly what Alex would have wanted. I’m sure he would love all the kind words and tributes, but he’d want the show to go on. RIP, Alex Trebek

Alex will never be forgotten. Really liked what I saw in Ken’s debut. I hope Ken grows into the job as long as he truly enjoys doing it.
