Astonishing effort from Spacex, So stable in flight! It was like a boat!
  • I cried when it crashed. Not cos it crashed. But because it was a success. Well done humanity. Well done

At least it crashed where they wanted it.... makes cleanup easier

They got to Third Base the fist launch, I think that is impressive, they got a ton of data for the next attempt. Great Job!!! #SpaceX

NASA blew up hundreds of rockets before they got it right. They’ll get there, don’t fret. It’s an impressive ship, any way you look at it

Remember all those Falcon boosters that crashed and how it is now basically a sure thing it'll land? Same situation here.

The "Nice Work" at the end tells you everything you need to know about SpaceX. When the gals & guys finish with that kind of statement, it tells you about a culture of learning, excitement, pragmatism, and perpetual optimism. That's what it takes to learn, and is what is required to make real advances. The ending message over the smoldering blackened landing site, of "Awesome Test!" is cool as hell, and absolutely true. Great job.

Failure is the greatest teacher...and entertainer with pyrotechnics like that.

Header tank pressure was low, lost one Raptor after all 3 reignited for landing, and the green flame was an attempt to relight it. No landing leg deploy either. All in all, it was a GREAT test flight, and SpaceX gained an ENORMOUS amount of data. RIP SN8, you flew an amazing flight. Great job, SpaceX!! Can't wait for SN9!!

One small step for man, one giant leap for a grain silo that explodes on impact.

The fact that this thing didn't corkscrew all over the place with one engine out is amazing. Amazing design. Can't wait to see these doing routine hops.
  • "A good rule for rocket experimenters to follow is this: Always assume that it will explode."

Can't we all appreciate that the onboard cameras which duly fulfilled their duties right before the crash landing?
  • i remember watching this live. i had a discord call going and i was streaming it for my friends, and i was so hyped i was yelling like a deranged sports fan. the explosion on landing was both sad and frikkin awesome at the same time!
