Just tried this method after many other voltage attempts and voila 3 batteries are now charging up wonderful news and I have read the warnings below and thanks for that input too will be aware of possibilities for damage too
  • @garymoses5283
You just saved me 40 bucks and a trip to Home Depot! Can't thank you enough.
  • It's called a Circuit Interruption Disc and it pops up as a safeguard for when too much pressure builds up in the cell. Whether that's from a short, damage, atmosphere, who knows. But essentially that battery at one point was saying it wasn't safe to be used. But I've seen quite a few cells revived this way. Not sure how well they hold up though
  • I know this is an older video, but thanks a million...I had an 18650 efest battery that would not take a charge. I followed your instructions and used a micro flathead to the section underneath the positive cap. My battery is now charging. Hope all's well👍
  • Thankyou Sir....Very nice of you for showing us your helpful tip....All of my batteries in my old Ryobi 4.0 battery did this after zeroing out in the cold winter shed...Good to know that I can now save the cells...almost threw them out until this video

DIY Vinny, Thank you for helping people with their issues. You titled the video 18650 CID Reset DONT DO IT. This for a very good reason. IF you want to create video's about risky tricks like this, try to explain why you SHOULDNT TRY THIS. Imagine that there are people trying this at home and ending with the possibility on lifelong injuries. A battery cost around 10 euro, it is reckless behavior messing around to save 10 euro. IF you made this video about the risks of messing with this batteries, you would have the same amount of viewers etc,. But instead of pushing people to try risky things, you would protect your viewers by giving them the right information about this kind of tricks. BEFORE YOU TRY THIS AT HOME. OVERTHINK IF ITS WORTH TAKING THE RISK TO LOSE YOUR EYESIGHT OR WORSE. JUST SPEND THE FKK 10 EURO FOR YOUR SAFETY.

I thank you for the great video and the information. I was able to revive a battery pack that was down for quite a while. It has been working well in my cordless drill. It has charged properly since the fix and I will give a further update as I continue using it.
  • Holy cow, it worked like a CHARM. I'd have NEVER thought of trying that. My hat off to you sir...
  • @vinnyc7613
thx, it revived my cell in the pack but i will replace it w/a new one and be way cheaper than buying a whole new battery pack. my battery pack was just over a year old and hardly used.
