John Deere 111 engine swap

Successfully put a new engine in this early 80's lawn mower. Had to grind some of the steering parts off to make it clear. Bolted in the same way. Added a hose to the oil filler to run a line to power the fuel pump and a wire to the fuel shutoff solenoid. Don't know if you can see it but the socket for it is busted and needs a new solenoid. Have it zip tied on. It cuts way nicer than it did. Looking forward to hooking up the snow thrower. Had to replace the throttle cable. The new engine had a bent lift rod and the valves were all off when we got it. I guess it's routine maintenance to adjust the valves on this engine anyway, the rod was super inexpensive to replace. The pulley and pto slid right off, I was kind amazed and relieved. I think it sounded a little weird when I started it because rain pooled on top of the fan. I did make one mistake, the old mower had AC headlamps and there was a black wire coming from the alternator that I grounded. I noticed the wire melted and I just cut it off after looking it up and realizing what it was. The alternator didn't fry so that's good.
