He's perfectly in time.... a different time, but perfectly in time.

If Lars can get famous playing drums, you can ask that girl out. Follow your dreams.
-
You can say whatever about him, but he's a legend!!!

The world is a strange place where too many people give Lars Ulrich lessons about how to play drums. He's a monster. A musician is not just a music player, he is also a composer and an arrangement maker. Lars is half soul of Metallica
-
He connects with the audience really well. Always has done.

Sad But True is a good description of Lars' drumming.

Love him or hate him, say he sucks at his craft; he’s the drummer of Metallica and you’re not.
-
That is an incredible spot to watch the show from!!😮
-
Say what you want about Lars's drumming but without him there is no Metallica.
-
you got to love the energy lars puts in his drumming even the 4/4 beat.. its just great to watch, great showmanship... you can watch all the technical drummers where everything is triggered to death... but it never just gives me goosebumps than a lars drumming part... it's the total package, not only the fasts DB bmp...

Lars is definitely one of the drummers of the world.

his drumming is sad but true

I can only imagine that pure adrenaline rush! 😎😎 I’ve played dozens of shows before as a drummer! The most I’ve playing in front of was like 400 people and they weren’t even there for us, My heart was jumping out of my chest so I couldn’t even imagine this!!!!!

Ya'll gotta realize what you're most hearing is the acoustics of the drums against the Guitars coming out of the PA SPEAKERS. It sounds like he's rushing but he's right on time we're just hearing the sound of the physical drums from the kit directly rather than the speakers like everyone else. He ain't the best but hes doing perfectly fine here

The kid only has 40 years of experience. Give him some slack.

Everyone here giving Lars shit for his drumming but it needs to be pointed out that he's not out of time here, there's just a slight delay between what's coming out of the speakers that's been processed and the actual live sound of the drums that the camera is picking up. I have first hand experience with this. I seen Metallica at Slane Castle in the pit and the sound was great but as soon as they came out for the encore on the walkway where they were within spitting distance of me I could hear both the actual live drums right in front of me as well as coming out through the P.A. and there was a slight delay. Not to mention I have a background in sound engineering and a small delay is to be expected, especially if what you're hearing coming out of the PA has to account for travel around a stadium (depending on where you are in relation to any particular line arrays or what have you.) That's why it sounds so out of time from the guitars here. The phone camera is only picking up the live drums in front of him but the guitars are being heard after going through the desk and out through the P.A. Not to mention also having a lot of reverb rom the stadium on top of them. I'm not here defending Lars, but it's important to note from a technical standpoint why this sounds "out of time."

He needs to put the toms back he used from 83-94.
