Hey everyone! Hiking season is back!! Super stoked to hit the trail this summer and explore more of Washington's beauty. The Cascades and Olympics are on my priority list and I have some really fun trips planned once the snow starts to melt. Until then, enjoy a nice morning hike to Annette Lake. Annette Lake is nestled behind the Snoqualmie Pass Ski Resort and is a perfect morning, afternoon, or evening adventure. I shot a roll of Portra 160 through my Pentax 6x7 and although they are far from my best work, I still had a wonderful day getting some exercise in and enjoying the nice weather. Cheers!

Well your channel being focused on photography does not mean that you always have to deliver shots that are portfolio worthy. To me honestly it's mostly about the inspiration making me crave to get out there myself and start shooting again. And that is something all of your videos definitely achieve. Great work again.

I think you're being too hard on yourself, I liked the way all of these frames came out.

Honestly, the video production and cinematography is always so good, and is enough to get me excited when I see that post notification…Thank you for sharing as always Brae!
  • Brae, I think your videos must have the best production quality of any film photography channel. Hell of most channels, especially with one guy. The audio is always great and the cinematography is beautiful. Really appreciate all the effort that goes into these.

I just came across this vid. Honestly this makes me so happy because it feels like whatever you plan for life, something seems to intervine and not end up how you imagined. But I loveddd how you turned it around and pushed your limits to try something new, and what you don’t usually do, and it still turn out sooo beautiful!! Thank you for inspiring me to one day do this!

Dude, don't feel bad, I'm just happy to go on a hike with you in these cool videos! Really dig the wide shot of the lake with the ice even with this light!
  • The funny thing is that none of us would have actually noticed you were having a hard time finding things to photograph if you hadn't said anything because your pictures look great
  • @Lorignal
This is why we love your channel, you can acknowledge that while problems do happen and maybe our plans don't go as well as we thought, we can still make the most out of the situation and just go with the flow. Great video as always.
  • @ervinslens
That's absolutely amazing! A fun and exciting hiking tour experience. Lots of variety in this video, beautiful locations.👌👌
  • Don't be so hard on yourself or worry about taking good and many pictures for the viewers, we enjoy your hiking content as much as we do your great photography. Really takes me back to my own memories of hikes in Canada, I live in The Netherlands and want to go back so bad, these videos are great!!
  • Loved this. Used to watch your channel last year and you got me into nature. Came back to find your channel again and this was more than enough to bring my stoke for nature back.

This video was really well made! I think that showing not every roll shot is perfect is really important for this community. I’ve shot my share of rolls that didn’t live up to my expectations and seeing that this happens to everyone can be really helpful. But great work man, keep it up!!!
  • @hikesome
Looks like a really nice adventure you had out there Brae! Always the best feeling at the beginning of the season on your first trail. Great adventure and good hiking vibes ;) Happy trails, Mario

I'm realy REALLY digging the portrait part of your photography journey. Thanks for sharing.
  • @TheeJaneDoe
It's the journey...and I find your journey super entertaining. The drive, the snacking/eating, the hike, the talks, etc. Stay safe out there and thank you for sharing your photography journey with us 🤗
  • It´s not just about the photos. You inspire me to go outside more and enjoy nature. We all have these kind of days with not much to photograph.
  • Don’t be at all worried about the number of images. Your videos take us to a beautiful part of North America regardless. I actually like the images too, especially the portraits. The joy of photography can also be about the process. I have hiked into spots, and often came away underwhelmed by my images. However, those walks still resonates in the ole braincase years later….as a guy likely your dad’s age, trust me on this 😉
  • @oneill.onfilm
I watch your videos for so much more than the amount of photos man. And like everyone I think they came out as bangers. It’s always good to see photographers breaking away from what they are comfortable with, like you shooting portraits, textures these things are the signs of someone exploring their craft. And I’m here for it! This was a lovely vodka lemonade indeed 🍋
  • @CalebsBoring
Another great video and more beautiful shots! Your videos are what make my day :) Thanks Brae

Brae really hiked this three times. One to place the camera, two to get the shot and three to pick up the camera. All for the b roll
