Humza Yousaf resigned after turning Scotland into an Orwellian land of thought crimes

Humza Yousaf described himself as “the luckiest man in the world” when he was elected as the 14th leader of the SNP and, in consequence, the sixth First Minister of Scotland.

Less than 400 days later, Mr Yousaf has accepted the brutal truth: that he inherited a crown too heavy for his head, and one irreversibly tainted by the legacy of what went before.

Whatever you might think of his predecessors Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond, they will be remembered long after their lifetimes, but Mr Yousaf, like his Westminster equivalent Liz Truss, is likely to become nothing more than a trivia question in years to come.

When a clown walks into a castle, it doesn't make the clown a king. It simply turns the castle into a circus.
  • He wouldnt condemn hamas but tried to police the thoughts of the scottish. Dont ever forget
  • @GailPlatt
His "white" speech will never ever be forgotten....in a 95% country that was absolutely shocking. He should be embarrassed.
  • He should have been arrested for breaking the law he put in place.
  • @risenshine2783
He is the luckiest man as he now gets 50% of his salary, bigger than Sunaks, forever as a pension, no matter how long he worked in this position. This is so wrong and I want these pay and terms and conditions changed!!

Can we now have an enquiry about the £250,000 he sent to a shady aid group in Gaza "no questions asked", and less than twelve hours later his family was smuggled through the Rafa crossing? Some might say that using the public purse to pay off ransoms is against the law.

He should never have been given that job in the first place. He failed at every job he was given.
  • My dear Scottish cousins, please, PLEASE elect a Scot to lead your government. One who IS a Scot by birth and is first and foremost for the Scottish people and homeland traditions!

Good. Now get rid of these Orwellian laws and everyone who supports them.
  • @KingRAB
Never allow this to happen again.

Break Britain from within seems to be the general policy of all these politicians
  • @Eternal_Forest
Meanwhile Englishmen are being locked up for years for putting up stickers

This is the fact: this politician tried to desmantle centuries of democracy, free speech and liberty. That is something Scotland should never forget. NEVER and I repeat NEVER the law should be used as a weapon to silence different opinions. If we allow that, tyranny and dictatorship soon will follow. Censorship is not freedom, like war is not peace. George Orwell 1984

People like him just make people more extreme, on both sides.

Whisky sales tonight in Scotland are going to be way up.
  • How much time did he spend worrying about the problems in the Middle East - and not trying to solve some of the problems in Scotland - drugs - health - education etc. What has he done to improve the ferry problems and to locate the missing money - according to my relatives in Scotland, he is the biggest mistake of the many that SNP have made in their horrific and expensive tries to gain Independence and to re-join the EU (who totally wrecked the fishing industry in Scotland). None of the family will ever vote for the SNP ever again!

Question why are unpopular people getting in positions of power?....
