Three UPSC aspirants of Rau's Coaching Centre in Delhi's Karol Bagh drowned due to flooding in the basement. Reportedly, there was no drainage facility in the building's basement. In addition, when water gushed inside the basement, 3 students were trapped and could not escape as the exit was biometrically-controlled. The authorities had also cut the power supply due to fear of electrocution.
The Municipal Cooperation of Delhi has now sealed the basements of 13 buildings in Rajendra Nagar.
