The “Goin’ to Work” era was the most sustained success the Pistons have enjoyed. Not only did the team win a title in 2004 but made the Eastern Conference Finals six years in a row from 2003-08.

These Pistons were tough, determined and defensive minded. They showed shades of the Bad Boys era without all of the over the top physicality and “break your spirit” aggression, even though they too were a stifling defensive team.

Hey guys! Hope you are all doing well. Please suggest me an NBA topic! Btw, thank you guys for your never-ending support in this channel!
  • The 03-04 Pistons was the pinnacle of a defensive team. We will never see a team that can hold opponents to under 80 or even 70 points for multiple nights.
  • It's still mind-boggling how they drafted frickin' Darko in 2003...and it's STILL mind-boggling that he got a ring before Lebron/Wade/Bosh did...
  • @ing4gi
This team was so good. Making the EFC 6 times in a row is crazy
  • this pistons team is always underrated. one of the best defenses in the history and it just proves to all of us that defense wins championships.

Great video and welcome back. That Pistons team during the 2000s. They represent the city in which I respect. Beating the Lakers back in 04 was one of the greatest upsets in History, besides besides basketball History.
  • @PricefieldPunk
The 2004 Pistons stayed in relevance longer then the 2008 Celtics did but you never really hear how great the 2004 Pistons were.

As a native Detroiter, nothing and I mean nothing brings me greater joy than these guys getting the respect they deserve. They represented our city so well. Its a shame they only won one championship. Im good on the 05 loss to the Spurs (much respect to them and their organization) but the 06 Ecf loss to the Heat hurts me more than anything. That was our year as we had such a historic season and after Ben left we were still competiting but our championship window officially closed Great video bro
  • Billups Richard Hamilton Prince Wallace x2 I liked the Pistons in the 2000s because of their outstanding team power.

The once great going to work era of the Detroit Pistons have been rebuilding in the league for over 22 straight years. This squad had gone 6 trips to the Eastern Conference Finals from - 2003, 04, 05, 06, 07 - 08. Reached the 2004 NBA Finals by upsetting the heavily favored L.A Lakers in 5 games & made it again in 05 but they ultimately fell short of their quest for back to back titles amongst the S.A. Spurs in game 7. Only to make the playoffs twice from 2016 & 19, exterminated from the 1st round. They were turned into a laughingstock without winning a single postseason series & missing the playoffs thanks to their devastating yet spectacular collapse of the franchise. 3 time NBA World Champions - (1989, 1990, 2004). Back to Back Eastern Conference Titles - (2004 - 05).

my squad!!! this was the team that got me hooked with basketball and in the NBA!
  • I know people say that the Pistons should've drafted Melo, but I think that Chris Bosh would've been a better fit for the team. The former didn't care too much for defense, while the latter would've fit a need at power forward. Let's also remember that Tayshaun Prince was instrumental in slowing Kobe Bryant down. Bosh would've given the team a go-to scorer, and he would better adapt to the Pistons' defensive philosophy. The only con about drafting Bosh is that the Pistons probably don't trade for Rasheed Wallace, who was huge for the team.
  • I'm so sad how the Pistons didn't win a new championship after the 2004, they had everything in the 2007, but thanks to Wallace going to Chicago, Lebron won. At least, some of them had the numbers retired from the Pistons team.
