Ok, that cast on is brilliant. I've never seen that before, thanks for the new skill! It somehow looks easier to me than regular foundation single crochet. I have some 24/7 cotton in my stash, so I think I'm going to make this pattern but longer to make an ID lanyard. My sister is a teacher and she's begging me to crochet her a lanyard lol. I’ve never been able to get my hands on the LB 24/7 cotton but I’m currently using (Hobby Lobby’s) Yarn Bee Fundamental Cotton that is 100% mercerized cotton. It has a light sheen to it too. So I think this could be a good substitute! I plan to make this longer to be a bag strap for another project I’m working on 🥰 I’ll let you know how it works up!
