The best turkey is the one someone other than me cooked
  • The best turkey is the one I get for free from the supermarket every Thanksgiving. Cause I'm a maverick.

For nearly $3.00 a lb., I'll go with the prime rib!

I brine a butterball turkey for three days and let it dry for 1day before roasting. It’s always amazing!

My fave is Empire Kosher. I make a whole turkey breast every 4 to 6 weeks. We use it for sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.

I got a free, organic turkey last year and baked it with herbs and salt. It was really good, and moist too. Didn't even brine or baste it. Better than Butterball, which is what my family usually gets.
  • I love how this feels like an infomercial but it is actually informative.

I live in Northern CA and Mary’s is local in our area. It can only be found in certain grocery stores and runs about $80+ a bird. I splurge on it annually since it’s free range and comes from the region. It is good. Website will help you find out where it’s sold as well.
  • I've found over the years that the basted turkeys don't have enough seasoning so I brine these overnight and smoke.
