There are two types of people in this world: 1. People who love Bo Burnham 2. People who don't know about Bo Burnham

This man is a fucking genius. He sang a song called "Art is dead" bashing on self obsessed celebrities, actors and comics as he put it. He did this in a show in a room full of comics and actor in a show with a budget and all the bell and all the bell and whistles. Shoved it right in their face as they laughed nervously.

Bo is such an inspiration. After seeing his specials I bought a piano, started practing for hours every day and now after all those years I can proudly say I have finally mastered A World On Fire

"I went to a store looking for something to buy, but they only sold paintings of the same sad guy, no wait this store sells mirrors!" is genuinely a beautiful lyric

“You’re not my children, you’re a bad game of sims “ Bo... How many times have your Sims set themselves on fire?
  • the pain in his voice when those comedians started laughing during “art is dead” you can tell he truly cares about the people his career targets, and thinks that’s it’s terrible career path because of how jealous some comedians can get. that song used to to be a funny song to me, now i respect him even more for having the bravery to sing that song, let alone in a room. room full of comedians

"Art is dead" is truly on a different level. His audience in that version were comedians and, although they laughed along, you can see on their faces that his words were hitting nerves and making them hear things they didn't want to consider. That is not a comedy song, it is a crisis and they knew it but they laughed to distract from it all. Bo knew how to make it hit just a little harder, too. The original lyrics were "But I wanted my name in lights when I could've fed a family of four..." In the greenroom, they changed. "We wanted our name in lights when we could've fed a family of four." And the accusatory glance when he sang "There's other people, you selfish asshole" was just... he his an excellent performer.

"a depressed onion cutting itself" that joke has layers, like an onion

5: You can't rank 4: Bo Burnham's music 3: They are all 2: equally great 1: A World On Fire
  • I will NEVER get over how he changes “I” to “we” at 10:20 it just proves that he’s singing to those men in the room as well. He’s not just talking about himself, those comedians are guilty of wanting their names in lights when they could’ve fed families 😬

"If you want love then the love's gotta come from you" You know, for a comedy song, that's a pretty hard hitting and true line
  • "Gay panic" 30 seconds later "And if I were gay, tho I swear I'm straight, I'd make the fellas say o-oh Bo"
  • @cherrychumz3082
Here's my ranking 1. A world on fire 2. A world on fire 3. A world on fire 4. A world on fire 5. A world on fire
  • [Chorus] Art is dead Art is dead Art is dead Art is dead [Verse 1] Entertainers like to seem complicated But we're not complicated I can explain it pretty easily Have you ever been to a birthday party for children? And one of the children won't stop screaming? 'Cause he's just a little attention-attractor When he grows up to be a comic or actor He'll be rewarded for never maturing For never understanding or learning That every day can't be about him "There's other people, you selfish asshole!" I must be psychotic, I must be demented To think that I'm worthy of all this attention Of all of this money you worked really hard for I slept in late while you worked at the drug store My drug's attention, I am an addict But I get paid to indulge in my habit It's all an illusion, I'm wearing makeup I'm wearing makeup, makeup, makeup [Chorus] Art is dead So, people think you're funny How do we get those people's money? I said, art is dead We're rolling in dough while Carlin rolls in his grave His grave His grave [Verse 2] The show has got a budget The show has got a budget And all the poor people way more deserving Of the money won't budge it 'Cause I wanted my name in lights When I could have fed a family of four For forty fucking fortnights Forty fucking fortnights [Refrain] I am an artist; please, God, forgive me I am an artist; please, don't revere me I am an artist; please, don't respect me I am an artist; feel free to correct me A self-centered artist, self-obsessed artist I am an artist, I am an artist But I'm just a kid, I'm just a kid I'm just a kid, kid And maybe I'll grow out of it
  • @spikeAfatboy
Why is no one talking about how much meaning art is dead has But lets be honest world on fire has more meaning lmao
  • @Userfulpo
Bo: Sings “Art Is Dead” in front of a bunch of comedians. Comedian Filled Audience: 👁👄👁
  • @Treehouse0
as a person who makes art, the song Art is Dead hits weird. Because it's almost a song about feeling guilty for being an artist. "Maybe i'll grow out of it" is so on point. To grow out of being an artist means you wont be this goddamn lonely.
