I believe that you are correct in your valuation of the dark area it is probably still happening in our camp site's of our time

There is a sheltering rock between Camp Ridge and Hump Mountain N.C. that the rock is blackened. There have and continues to be points found. I have not been there in years even though I live technically right below it. If only that old rock could talk.

I have a huge issue where I am where people are building there huge mansions and we see she’ll come out of the ground. Our local sites are getting destroyed at an alarming rate and unfortunately our historical society doesn’t care. It really hurts to see but we always try to save what we can.
