Austin Symphonic Band. February 7, 2015 concert at Austin ISD Performing Arts Center in Austin TX. ASB performing Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli. Frank Ticheli conducting. Concert title: Tributes. This setting for concert band was commissioned by Hill Country Middle School Symphonic Band, Cheryl Floyd, Conductor, as a tribute to Jonathan Paul Cosentino, a horn player in the Hill Country band whose young life ended tragically in December of 1997.

    I have played this with at least 5 different bands. It never sounds bad, no matter what skill level of band is playing it. It's simple and incredibly effective. I miss playing with bands so much.

    Listened to this at a band festival I visited damn near cried, I know nothing about music but even a common man like me can see this is fuckin beautiful

    Nice meaty clarinet at the end. I could taste the prime rib. In other words... a proper Shenandoah ending. Great flute Rondo also.
