That took 18 minutes, let's see if I can do it in 1. Spot is the current price (google: silver spot price). You need to know this. Pre-65 dimes, quarters and half dollars are 90% silver. They're called junk silver. They're not junk. They're not pure, but pretty darn good. Check your change, always. Pulling junk out of your pocket is free money. Pure silver is available in coins, rounds, and bars. Coins, like the US Silver Eagle, are government mint. Rounds are pretty coins. Think Franklin mint Christmas collectables. Bars are, well, bars. Neither rounds nor bars are guaranteed, nor readily recognizable. And just because they're stamped 999 doesn't mean squat. Until you understand and recognize genuine silver, stick with government coins: US junk coins & US Silver Eagles. Buy in bulk. The more you buy the lower the premium. Lastly, don't speculate. This is not a system to be "played". Try to buy more when spot is low, of course, but don't agonize over it.

This has to be one of the best videos on you tube for us silver stacking newbies. Very informative! Thanks.

Hey silver fish This is my first comment on YouTube so feel special. I have been engulfing my self in videos, sites and people I know who are steeped in the silver community "stackers" and "preppers" and am sifting through junk to find wisdom and people with similar values. My comment is more of a thank you for your videos. I keep coming back as u seem to have a holistic passion for life and true freedom...as well as honest opinions and wisdom. Today was special to me as it kicked off my first "box opening" and the different family/friend responses to my new born passion and life trajectory. With resolve I even made a (terribly shot) video that may get aired if I decide to share my encounters along the silver brick road! Anyway keep being you and inspiring guys like my self! Marty <><

Hi silverfish, I recently found your channel and I love your videos. You're the best silver you tuber. I understand why you stopped making videos, but I wish you'd reconsider. I don't think making one video a month or something like that is unreasonable. You can continue spreading your knowledge and making people happy.

Hey Bro, I just wanted to say Kudos to you for what you're doing. My silver stash is mostly pre-65's, but I am diversified in my holdings with other forms of silver as well. One of which that you haven't mentioned is war nickels that are 35% silver, 56% copper, 9% manganese. They were minted between the years 1942-1945 and cost less than 90% dimes. Another thing to add is 1965-1970 Kennedy halves are 40% silver which is worth mentioning also.

I think there is time, stack as hard as you can, but stay within yourself. Thanks for watching!

I take notes, sometimes will write out some thoughts. Usually make an outline. Dont want to miss anything, I get pretty nervous when making videos, and want to make sure I cover everything.

Great vid. I actually started collecting silver about 2 months ago. I started buying from monarch precious metals. I was watching a video by cutlery lover. He showed his 10 oz silver bar unboxing. I went to the sight and looked around and bought a small amount of fractional silver. Then silver eagles. So I started watching you tube videos and researching on my own. Now I love collecting for the fun aspect and financial as well. Just think. I got into this just because I watch knife reviews.
  • @silverfishVT
Thanks Epic, yeah, I hate seeing people fall for the same things that I did, when it can easily be avoided. Thanks for watching!

  • @BratcherLev
I bought at approximately $25/oz a few years ago and watched the spot price tank down to around 14-15. Here it is on the rise, and I get the bug to start collecting again. I have terrible timing.
  • @blake3128
Yes, I wanted to try something totally different with some investments and I thought silver would be a great thing to start with my boys(age 4 and 6). At the recent low last week, we jumped in. Thanks for all the info and keep it coming!
  • Thanks for the tip on silver clad and German silver, I will stay away from both of those. I'm stacking silver for the future and I enjoy buying it and just to look at. I stated buying silver for months ago and I wished I stated doing this years ago but I can't cry about it now but to continue forward. Thanks for sharing your video
  • @carnagie85
Great video, I remember when i started stacking i wish i could have watched a video like this, it would have helped a great deal. I know research is great, but when someone like your self is kind enough to take the time to make a video to help new stackers it really helps and basicly points thems in the right direction. I learned that the sulphur in the yaer effects the colour of the silver which i didn't know before. Thanks Silverfish VT. Godbless.
  • @bri5speed
Still a fan of the old school YouTube silver stacking videos.
  • @silverfishVT
This, 1000 times this! You articulated this well, Numis are a slippery slope starting out, you should have been here when I was writing the video up!
  • @mesatop5
Great video with lots of good info. I've been stacking for about a year now, but I still consider myself a rank beginner. Since my goal is to amass a stash of hard currency to use in a SHTF situation, I mostly stick to "junk," which I love. I just found a dealer at a local flea market who sells it at spot. Hooray! Thanks for all you do for the community.
  • @joebar8099
Really appreciate the help in where to buy and how to sell. All very good info. Thank you very much!
