The Albatross is a reference to 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' where a mariner shoots down an albatross believing it was bad luck, but it was actually good luck. It only became bad luck BECAUSE he shot it down, and then he has to wear it around his neck as a symbol of guilt and shame. Taylor is the albatross and yes theyre warning her new lover, but also they got it wrong. She will only write songs about cutting people down if they do something bad to her first, but if you treat her well, she'll treat you well and lift you up.

the anthology is one of those albums that gets better each and every listen

How did it end is such a devastating song because there was always a running joke about her breakups and then she thinks she’s finally found the love of her life so when that ended it probably felt sort of embarrassing to have everyone talking about it. “Come one, come all, it’s happening again”

Also, the story of Cassandra is boiled down to she was cursed by Apollo to be able to see the future, but no one believed her... and she tried to warn people about the future but they killed her

Robin is the name of Aaron's kid, and he wrote it with Taylor 🥺 It's about how adults will hide the worst parts of the world from children for as long as they can because they love them and want them to believe the world is good (in sweetness)

The Manuscript is her reflecting on her time with Jake and how that story turned out so big even to the point of creating a short film.about it. She then knew what all the pain was for.

Cassandra is the mad woman from folklore and I fully believe this 😌😌
